Newcomers to the Helen Baldassare Cabaret Performance Workshop are asked to audition, but rest assured it’s not the frightening, make-or-break experience one might imagine. It’s more of a meet-and-greet — an opportunity for Ms. Baldassare to evaluate prospective students’ musicality, and an opportunity for students to get a personal introduction both to Ms. Baldassare and to the musical and artistic ideals she holds dear.
